Clarity over consumer complaints process in Brazil 

A degree of clarity has been found over consumer controls in the Brazilian market.

It was confirmed by the National Consumer Agency of SENACON that for every Brazil Bets licence granted, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) must register their businesses on the platform of Consumidor.gov.br.

The move was backed by SENACON Secretariat Wadih Damous, who stated: “Mandatory registration on Consumidor.gov.br is a fundamental step to ensure that bettors’ rights are respected. Now, Brazilians have a direct and efficient channel to register and monitor their complaints, strengthening balance in consumer relations.”

Further cementing the move in the new framework, the federal authorities of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) and the Ministry of Finance (MEF) gave their backing to the decision.

As a result, SENACON will tap into Consumidor.gov.br to ensure a smooth process when it comes to consumer complaints.
